My Beautiful Paper Smile Full Walkthrough and Achievement Guide

This guide contains complete walkthrough of the game with the explanations on how to get to all achievments in the game.

Introduction

In the walkthrough texts I point at specific areas, where you can find an item or get a non-story achivements. You can find more details about the items after the walkthrough of the chapter. Non-story achievments have their own section in the guide. I’ve put some secrets, that I’ve found during me playthroughs, in the last section of the guide.

Chapter One: My Beautiful Escape

– Walkthrough

Day 1

After the dialogue go towards the door. (You can find a ticket in this room.) Click on it. Wait for the announcement and click on the door again. Go down until you enter a big room.

Talk to the a man on the left. Click on a kid, who is standing in the line.

Test

Go right until you reach the stairs. Go upstairs, then left and down a bit. You will find a room with a TV, where you can pick up Plank.

Go back and upstairs again. Go right.

(You can also find a ticket in this area.) Follow the trail on the floor until you reach a hole. Plank would be automaticly put on, just click on it. Continue following the trail.

Pick up Key from the podium. Continue following the trail.

(You can find a ticket in this area.) Meet with the monster, run from it. You need to run over the podium and run onto the corridor before the monster. Run until the end of it. You’ve finished the test. Watch a cutscene.

(You can find a ticket in this room.) Go back to your cell (last one on the left).

Escape

After waking up, click on your friend on the other bed. Click on the door of the cell, listen to the dialogue and click on it again. Go to the big room and into the left door. Go upstairs then right until you reach the corridor with a bunch of rooms.

(You can find three tickets and a tape in these rooms.)

Enter the last room on the right.

(You can find a ticket in this room.) Go to the next room (on the right). Watch a cutscene. Now you need to go back. Go down through the corridor, then turn left. After going downstairs you will get a short cutscene. Go downstairs, turn right and click on the door. You will get another short cutscene. Click on the door, go to your cell.

Day 2

Approach the door. Click on it. Go to the big room.

(You can find a ticket in this room.) Talk to the man on the left. After a dialogue and a cutscene click on the door on the right. Go forward

(you can find a ticket on your way) until you reach the crossroads.

From here you can either first explore the area to get achievments or continue with the story. Go upstairs, then right

(you can find a ticket in this area) , go on the bridge and walk until you find an opened room.

Take Key.

(You can get an achievment in this room.) Go back to the crossroads. Go right, there is another crossroads nearby. Go up towards the door. Click on it.

Go inside and start walking on the bridge. At some point the monster will appear. Start running from it. At some point you will run past doors. Click on the third door, and you will enter a room.

Here you need to put a mask on a mannequin and take another mask. Wait for the monster to appear and put a mask on it. Repeat this three times. The monster will explode, and a door will be opened. Go through it.

Click on a switch and go outside. Approach the moving conveyor belt. This is the end of chapter one.

– Ticket Hunter (White Tickets)

The first ticket can be found in a room, where you wake up at the beginning of the game.

The second ticket can be found on the floor in the big room, after you finish the test.

The third ticket can be found during the escape in one of the rooms in the corridor. Enter the first opened door on the left and go to the end of the room.

The fourth ticket can be found during the escape in the final room of the corridor (last room on the right).

The fifth ticket can be found during day 2 after entering the right door in the big room and going downstairs twice.

– Ticket Detective (Grey Tickets)

The first ticket can be found in the test room, near the TV. After entering the room, go right, then upstairs twice and follow the trail on the floor.

The second ticket can be found during the escape in one of the rooms in the corridor. Enter the second opened door on the left.

The third ticket can be found during day 2 in the big room. Make sure to pick it up before you talk to the man.

The fourth ticket can be found during day 2. After you leave the big room and reach the first crossroads, go upstairs, then right a bit (don’t cross the bridge) and down.

– Ticket Sleuth (Black Tickets)

The first ticket can be found during the test. At the beginning of the corridor, where you meet the monster, the is a door. Walk through it at go all the way to the end of the room.

The second ticket can be found during the escape in one of the rooms in the corridor. Enter the second room on the right. Here you need to turn off your “life” (otherwise the monster will kill you) and run through the room until you reach the end. Here you can safely turn your “life” on.

In the same room you need to click on the door repeatedly, until the sound changes. Without doing it, you won’t be able to find the third ticket.

The third ticket is located near the door, where you need to use black tickets (on the right of the door you need to unlock).

Chapter Two: A Place Of Sorrow

– Walkthrough

Here the path is linear. When you reach the first crossroads, go right (going left is not an option). When you reach the second crossroads, go up.

(You can find a token in this area.) Go forward, until you approach a pedestal.

Pick up the knife. After the cutscene go right. At some point you will get another cutscene. Continue moving forward until you reach a dead end.

Click on the rope. Go right until you reach the cabin.

Enter the cabin.

(You can find a token in this room.) Go outside. You will meet the Hunter. Go back to the cabin and click on the bed.

(You can find a token during this cutscene.) After you wake up go outside and click on the Hunter. Follow him. After he leaves you, open the left gates.

(You can find a token in this area.)

Go left and then up. You will reach a bridge with a cabin on the left.

Pick up a detail and go inside the cabin. Approach a mechanism. Put the cursor on it and click on the blinking detail. Click on the lever and go outside. Walk over the bridge.

(You can find a token in this area.) Go fowrard until you reach a cabin.

Enter the cabin. Go to the right end of it and pick up Rusty Key from the floor.

Leave the cabin (you can go to the left end of it and click on the door). Now you need to return to the Hunter. After seeing that something is following you, equip the knife. You need to hit the spider three times in order for it to leave. Walk over the bridge and go back to the Hunter. After a cutscene he will leave you again to get some sleep.

(You can find a token in the cabin.)

Go right. When you reach a small cabin, open the gates on the top and go up. Continue following the path until you reach a temple. Go inside and all the way to the pedestal. Here you can find some clues.

(You can find a token in this area.) Use the clues to summon a spirit. You need to turn on specific spheres.

Go all the way back to the cabin and click on the fire. Watch a cutscene. Follow the Hunter. He will tell you to find a key.

(You can find a token in this area.) Go to the left side of the big building and enter the door. Cut the third from the left rope using the knife and pick up key. Go outside, approach the main entrance of the building and click on it. Watch a cutscene.

(You can find a token in this area.) Enter the cabin and click on the bed.

(You can find a token during this cutscene.) During this cutscene you’ll need to make a choise: either kill the Hunter or trust him to lead you. Your choise doesn’t matter, since the outcome will be pretty much the same

(except you will get a token, if you deside to kill the Hunter) . After waking up, leave the cabin and go toward the fireplace. Watch a cutscene and loot the Hunter’s corpse, if you’ve desided to kill him.

Go left, open the gates and go through.

(You can find a token in this area.) Go up. Watch a cutscene. Follow the path. You can use the tokens, that you’ve collected, on the fountains.

Use the stairs on the right to go up. Find the cave on the right and enter it.

Click on the cauldron. After a cutscene go left. When you reach a bridge, you will get another cutscene. Go down and pick up the apple. Go back to the cave and click on the cauldron. Now go right until you get caught by the spider.

Walk left and right in order to free yourself from the web. There is a table on the left, where you can find your knife. Equip it. Go to the right and approach the stairs. Now you need to fight the spider. I recommend going into the middle cave and stand there, waiting for it to approach you. Hit the spider five times, and it will die.

Now go right until you find an old man. After a cutscene he will attack you.

(You can get an achievment here.) He swings his legs and every once in a while sticks one of them to the ground. You need to cut two of his legs in order to defeat him. I recommend moving up and down to avoid getting hit. After killing the man you will fall down.

Now you need to defeat another spider. If it hits you twice, you will die. Go to the left platform and move the gear until all three bars on the top of it go white and, after a clicking sound, back to black. Do the same with the gear on the right platform, then again with the gear on the left platform. If you do everything correctly, the bar on the lever on the middle platfrorm will turn white. Wait for the spider to get under the boxes and then pull the lever.

Here are some of my tips on how to kill the spider. The safe places in this room are: the middle platform, botton of the left platform, bottom of the right platform. If you are standing on the right/left platform, I recommend to move to their safe area when the spider leaves the platform with the boxes. In order to move the gear, hold the mouse button, instead of clicking repeatedly. If you click on a gear too mane times, the game will bug and you won’t be able to click anything. If that happened, die from the spider and try again.

Approach the boxes. This is where the chapter ends.

– Token Hunter (Triangle Tokens)

On the second crossroads (at the beginnig of the game) go up a little. And then to the left. You will see some boxes and the first token.

You can find the second token in the cabin (right before meeting The Hunter).

After the Hunter leaves you the first time, go left. You will find the third token near a small cabin right after you go through the gates.

When the Hunter goes to rest, you can enter the cabin and find the fourh token.

You can find the fifth token near the cabin, where you’ll sleep the second time.

– Token Detective (Diamond Tokens)

You can find the first token in the boat after crossing the river.

You can find the second token in the area, where you summon the Lost Child.

You can find the third token after the Hunter tell you to look for the key. Go through the gate and go left. The token is on the steps of a small cabin.

You can find the fourth token after the Hunter leaves you (or you kill him). Go left, go through the gates and then down a bit.

– Token Sleuth (Crescent Tokens)

You can find the first token during the first sleeping cutscene (right after meeting the Hunter).

You can find the second token during the second sleeping cutscene (in which you need to make a choise).

In order to find the third token, you need to choose to kill the Hunter. Loot the token from his corpse.

Chapter Three: An Untimely Departure

– Walkthrough

Go right and down the stairs.

Go through the door that is guarded by two men. After a dialogue, go back and enter the room on the left.

(You can find a breaker in this room.) Talk to the Heretics. Return to their leader. Watch a cutscene.

Follow the Heretic. When he leaves you, continue going right.

(You can find a breaker in this area.) When you reach a dead end, go up. Repeat that again.

(You can find a breaker in this area.) Watch a cutscene.

Go through the right gates twice. You will hear an announcement. In odrer go through the area you need to be in the center the column of the kids. If you go before, after or around them, you will be captured.

(You can find a breaker in this area.) You will end up in a room with a lot of beds.

(You can find a breaker in this area.) Find an empty bed and click on it. After a cutscene try to leave the cabin.

Now you need to run away from the Authorities. Go up, then right. Skip two alleys and go up the third one. Go a little to the right and then up again.

(You can find a breaker in this area.)

You will fall down. Go left, downstairs twice, then right. You will end up in a room with a lever and two doors.

Go through the door on the right.

(You can find a breaker in this room.) Go right and up until you find an opened door. Go through it. Pull the lever in the middle (the one with the light turned off) and go back to the previous lever. The light on it should be turned on now. Click on it. The brigde will move to another door. Go to this door and click on it.

Go right then up and towards an opened door.

(You can find a breaker in this area.) Go through it. Go downstairs twice, then go right to another opened door. Go through it and then downstairs. You will end up in a room with a lever.

Click on the lever. Walk over the bridge and click on the big wooden doors.

(You can find two breakers in this area.) Approach the door on the other end. Click on it. Go right and then up towards the opened door. Watch a cutscene. Go through the right door. The guards are walking around this floor, so you need to be careful. They make a specific noise when they are close. Go to the room on the right.

Wait for the guard to pass, then run down, right, up and right. You will end up in a room with the stairs in the middle.

Go to the right down corner of it. Go through the door and up.

(You can find a breaker in this area.) Wait for the guard to pass either in the first room on the right or in the last room on the left. Go to the right.

You need to open the safe. The code is 1891. You can find it on a piece of paper near the safe. Pick up the key. Now you need to go back to the beginning of the Underland.

Wait in the room with the safe for the guard. Go to the opposite end of the corridor. Wait for the guard to pass. Go down and into the room with the stairs. Go to the left up corner (not upstairs). Go left, down, left, up, left, down, left. Don’t forget about the guard waking there. Click on the door.

Go to the second floor. Click on the door. There is a guard patroling this area, so be careful. Go right, then up and into the room on the left.

Pick up coupler. Leave the room and go up.

(You can find a breaker in this area.) Go into the room on the right.

Pick up coupler. Go all the way down and right, to the beginning of the floor. Go up and enter the room on the left. Turn the left valve and remove two pipes.

Put couplers on their places. Turn two vents. Go back to the beginning on the Underland and down to the third level. Walk right until you reach the room with two stairs.

Here you can use the breakers that you’ve collected. Enter the door in the middle. Go right and then up. You will end up on the crossroads. Both way lead to the same area. Go to the booth with the levers. Watch the cutscene.

The first five left levers are attached to the lights. When the monster appears under the light, the lever will slightly twich. You need to pull the correct level, when the monster is under the light. After pulling the level you need to repeatedly click on the most right lever in order to turn other levers back on. You need to shoot the monster with the light four times. Then the lever in the middle will start twiching. Click on it, and the monster is defeated.

The door is now opened. Go all the way to the end and turn left. Walk until you get the cutscene. Go up and onto the elevator. Watch a cutscene. This is where the chapter ends.

– Breaker King (Small Breakers)

The first breaker can be found in the room, where two Heretics stand with your knife.

You can find the second breaker during the second section, where you’re supposed to follow the Heretic.

You can find the third breaker during the chase section (after you leave the cabin with the kids). Go right from an area, where you’re supposed to fall.

You can find the fourh breaker at the beginning of the Underland on the left.

The fifth breaker can be found on the first level of the Underland. After leaving a room with the stair in the middle, go up and enter the first room on the right.

– Tech Wizard (Medium Breakers)

You can find the first breaker during the third sequence, where you need to follow the Heretic. Go down, then right and into the first alley. The breaker is at the end of it.

You can find the second breaker during the section, where you need to walk in a column with kids. It lies on the stairs on the left.

You can find the third breaker in a room right after the one, where you need to move the bridge from one door to another.

The fourth breaker is on the second floor of the Underland. You can find it between the rooms, in which you need to pick up couplers.

– Certified Electrician (Large Breakers)

You can find the first breaker after clicking on the door, while you’re in the cabin with other kids. In order to open the door you need a rusty key, that you got in chapter 2. (If you don’t have it at the beginning of chapter 3, you’ll have to replay chapter 2.)

After moving the bridge and going right, you will see a shadow on the top. The shadow will dissappear, and you will be able to fing the second breaker on its place.

The third breaker is located on the third floor of the Underland. You need to enter the door before you’ve turned off the gas.

Chapter Four: A Journey’s End

– Walkthrough

Follow the road until you reach a light.

(You can find a puppet part in this area.) Follow the road until you reach the door.

Go forward and then to the right. Go forward until you reach an elevator.

(You can find two puppet parts in this area.) Go onto the elevator. Watch a cutscene. Step from the elevator and go right. Enter the dark area and go right.

Go downstairs.

(You can find a puppet part in this room.) Pick up a key in the centre on the room. Go back to the door and click on it. Go toward the levers and pull the one that has a light turned on. Go back and downstairs, then to the right. Now you can go through the door. Go forward until you reach a corridor.

(You can find two puppet parts in this area.) Go up and into the last opened room on the right. Go through the room. Watch a cutscene. Go past the cages into the door.

Pick up binding cream. Step onto the elevator. Watch a cutscene. Step from the elevator and go right until you reach the crossroads. Go up.

Interact with the table in the middle of the area.

(You can find a puppet part in this area.) Go right then up.

(You can find a puppet part in this area.) Go right. Run from the spirit. Go towards it. Go forward until you reach the elevator.

Go left and up. Go to the right room and pick up crowbar.

Go to the left door and follow the path until you see a child. Click on the cage. Return back to the elevator. Pull the left lever. Step onto the elevator. Watch a cutscene. Go right. In this room you need to solve a puzzle. You can see the clues at the bottom side of the room.

Go towards the spirit. Watch a cutscene. Go through the door.

(You can find a puppet part in this area.) Go through the door into the dining room.

(You can find a puppet part in this area.) Go through the door and go right.

You need to push the cart with the plates down in order to block one of the doors. After doing that go downstairs, then through the right door and start running.

(You can find a puppet part in this area.) Watch a cutscene. Go right and pick up a crystal orb.

Go right and step on the elevator. Watch a cutscene. Click twice on the vent on the left.

(You can find a puppet part in this area.) Go upstairs once and click on the door. Go right and then up.

Interact with a bowl. Watch a cutscene. Equip the life orb and use it to destroy the manequines. Go into the room that the manequins were blocking and pick up key.

Go back to the stairs and go all the way up. Click on the door. Go right, then up and right again.

In this room you can use the puppet parts that you’ve collected. Go right and up. Don’t forget to equip the life orb before entering.

First you neen to kill the Autorities, that are coming to you, with the orb. Then you need to run away from the beam while still killing the Authorities. After that the king will get up from his throne. Hit the king five times, and the will die.

Click on the crown. Watch a cutscene. This is the end of the game.

– Leg Work (Puppet Legs)

The first leg is located in the right room near the first elevator.

The second leg is located in the room with coffins.

After leaving the room with the coffins you will end up in a corridor. The third leg is located in the first room on the right.

From the area with the table go right then up. The fourth leg is located in the corridor.

The fifth leg is located in the dining room on one of the tables on the right.

– Need a hand? (Puppet Arms)

The first arm is at the beginning of the chapter near the river.

After leaving the room with the coffins you will end up in a corridor. The second arm is located in the second room on the left.

After approaching the spirit the second time, you will end up in a room with a long carpet. The third arm is located on the floor on the left.

After leaving a mailfuntioned elevator go downstairs twice. Here you can find the fourth arm.

– Three heads are better than one (Puppet Heads)

The first head is located in the left room near the first elevator. Enter the room, then leave it and enter again.

From a room with the table go left until you reach a dead end. Pick up key, go back to the table and then up. Click on the left door. This is where the second head is located.

You can find the third head during the chase in the corridor with the flames.

Eavesdropper
Chapter one

You can pick up the Audio Tape during day 1 escape. When you approach the corridor go into the first opened door on the right. The tape will be at the end of the room.

During day 2 you can play Audio Tape in the same room, where you pick up Key.

Super Sneaky Spy
Chapter one

During day 2 you can access a secret facility. After entering the right door, continue going right until you reach the end.

To unlock the facility you need to collect three Key Cards. They are located in the rooms nearby the door you need to unlock. You need to collect all the tickets in order to get access to the rooms. After entering a room, click on a ticket booth and go to the next room. You will find a card there.

After collecting all three cards, go to the facility an click on the panel.

Game’s Secrets

If you restart a level too many times, you will get a special cutscene. The same happens if you exit the game too many times.

When you unlock the facility in Chapter One, you can go inside the room and watch a cutscene. In it an arrow goes around, pointing on a sequense EP511.

When you use breakers in Chapter Three, they open three rooms. In each room you can find a message.

In each chapter you can find a TV, that shows a code. You can also find these TVs in the rooms to which you get access by puppet parts.
